Happy Birthday Tully, seven was heaven and eight will be great!

Tully is eight today. How does this happen! He is just growing so fast and sharp as a tack. Gorgeous unruly, curly locks and such a cheeky smile. A razor sharp wit with a gentle soul glowing from within. My beautiful sunny boy who loves anything rainbow, especially rainbows ( he once saw a rainbow and ran around and around the house going crazy with joy-later he shared that he was actually rainbow powered and was now fully charged!)

Tully woke us all at dawn so exicted, he got his presents and LOVED them. Tonight we went to Carlton for dinner (Italian of course) followed by gelati- we did consider having spanish donuts and dipping chocolate but Tully was overcome with the idea of custard, choc mint and blackberry gelati, so we had to leave the cafe immediately in pursuit of gelati which was found two doors down. This was followed by a bit of gaffing about in the nearby park and then home with a very crazy game of "eye spy"....As we drove home via the freeway, the night lights flashed Saturday night signals, people flowed past on their way to Saturday night happenings and I felt so grateful for my life.

My Mum

Tomorrow will be Mother's Day and as usual I will only get to hear if she likes her present and if she had a nice day. Mum lives interstate and I rarely get to spend Mother's Day with her, I think we have averaged about 2 in the past ten years.

My Mum is a straight talking woman. No nonsense and loves a laugh. You won't get political correctness from her but you will get a "correctness" that is based on strong ethical and moral standards. Mum is not a flamboyant person, not an extrovert. It is hard to force her out of her comfort zone, but when this happens she becomes a "new experience" junkie! Finally, when she has her fill of the world she will retreat to hers with books and quiet.

While we may not see each other often, we speak ALL the time. We know about the "little" things in each others lives, the important things and the worrying things. We share our opinions, sometimes to levels so heated one has to drop out in a huff! But we have a relationship that is forgiving and whilst this may seem exhausting to others (and sometimes to us too!), but it is our relationship and unique to us. I don't want it duplicated anywhere by anyone. I am confident of our bond and know her love so well....Happy any day Mum, I am glad you're mine

Hand made Mother's Day Cards

basket cased

Over on the beautiful blog of Kitschen Pink during the Easter festival, I read instructions for some sweet little baskets made from wool, PVA glue and ballons. Easy! She said. Well clearly I am a backward crafter! Trickery trickery! Not only was it chaos with the kids trying to get the stuff onto the balloons-getting the gluey wool to STAY on the balloons was something else.
And instead of achieving lovely little baskets for decorating my Easter table I got this....yep one almost made it! LOL.

Prudence knits again!

Well the needles are finally out again! I clacked up this little sweetie for my friends' baby : Alice. Whilst I was at it, I made a rainbow scarf for her mummy. Feels good to get making things again, I have been busy studying and working and doing stuff and not creating much at all. What never ceases to surprise me is that once I get immersed, magic happens and items appear. I love knitting, the process that at the same time makes fabric and unique items. *sigh*

I remember doing that

Nurse Martha looked after Barry bear all day but the best medicine was a tea party with real tea!
